Folk Floral Envelope Tutorial

We spend a lot of time at the Antiquaria headquarters talking about our personal journeys of getting off our phones, breaking up with scrolling, and the peace and creativity that comes with it. Last year, we decided to put all of our focus on creating products that cultivate creativity and support screen-free time. Our watercolor painting kits were born from that intention — and today's free Envelope Template Download takes our newest watercolor kit, Mini Folk Flowers, to the next level with a coordinating envelope that expands the possibilities of what to do with your paintings once they're finished. Here's your invitation to slow down, settle in, and make something with your hands!

Whether you're a longtime painter, a first-timer, or just looking for a reason to spend an hour making something lovely, I hope you'll find something here worth slowing down for.

A little Love Letter to all things Handmade

I have always believed that the things we make with our hands carry a kind of magic that store-bought items simply can't. A handwritten note tucked into a hand-painted envelope says something a text message never could: I thought of you. I made time. I made this for you.

That's why I love designing painting kits that go beyond "just" the painting. Yes, the act of putting brush to paper is, in itself, so rewarding. There's a meditative joy in mixing colors and watching a painting come to life under your hand. But what happens after the painting is finished? That's where things get really fun.

Where will these little envelopes end up? The possibilities are so exciting!

The Free Folk Flowers Envelope Template

The download is a printable PDF designed to be printed double-sided, which means one template gives you two completely different envelope looks. One side features a sweet scalloped flap with a little bouquet and a heart detail, perfect for a more "finished" look with a label space ready for your recipient's name. The other side is a lush, all-over folk floral pattern that turns the envelope into a little work of art on its own.

Use whichever side speaks to you that day. Some days call for tidy and traditional; some days call for full floral maximalism. We love options.

The Perfect Pair: The Antiquaria Folk Flowers Mini Watercolor Painting Kit

While these envelopes are absolutely lovely on their own, they were designed as a companion to the Antiquaria Folk Flowers Mini Watercolor Painting Kit.

This precious mini-size kit comes with everything you need to paint your own little folk floral cameos: watercolors, instructions, and beautiful cards to paint on. Pair a hand-painted mini card with these handmade envelopes and suddenly you've made someone the most personal, most thoughtful, most you gift imaginable. All from your kitchen table.

Enjoy the Process

More than anything, I hope this little project gives you a reason to settle in and make something. Throw on some tunes, pour something warm to drink, spread out some paper across the table. Make a mess. Make a few envelopes. Make a few more for someone you love.

Making things with your hands isn't just about the finished product, it's about relishing the time spent, the focus given, and the satisfaction of watching something come together one step at a time.

So here it is, with love: a little gift from us to you.
